Kayapa ranks 23rd most improved LGU
Kayapa ranks 23rd most improved 3rd-4th class LGU in the country during the 2022 CMCI Awarding Ceremony.

The Cities & Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) recognizes the Municipality of Kayapa as the 23rd most improved municipality among 3rd-4th class local government units in the country. Mayor Elizabeth D. Balasya and Mitos O. Wales, Tourism Officer, attended the 6th Cagayan Valley Regional Competitiveness Forum and 2022 CMCI Awarding Ceremony this December 1, 2022 at Go Hotels Plus, Tanza, Tuguegarao City to receive the plaque in recognition of the municipality’s efforts to enhance competitiveness as a local government unit.

The forum and awarding ceremony with the theme “Sustainable and Competitive Cagayan Valley: Bridging the Gap and Enabling Local Institutions” aim to highlight innovation and research and development as essential elements towards enhancing competitiveness of LGUs in the region.

CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine Cities and Municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.

Through Mayor Balasya’s leadership, the municipality was able to partner with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and adapt the use of Electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (E-BPLS) to ease business application processing in the municipality According to DICT officials, Kayapa is the the fourth LGU to adapt the use of E-BPLS in the Nueva Vizcaya.

The said activity is a collaboration of the Department of Interior and Local Government and the Department of Trade and Industry.
