The Local Government Unit of Kayapa, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Elizabeth D. Balasya, was awarded Best Project Implementer for Local Access Road Category in the R2 ASSETS REBORN Award during the CY 2022 Excellence Award for Governance and Leadership (EAGLE) Awarding Ceremonies last November 17, 2022 at Pulsar Hotel and Convention Center, Enrile Avenue, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The EAGLE Award is an annual incentives and awards program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 2 which empowers local government officials and functionaries by recognizing and rewarding exemplary performance and showcasing good practices in local governance.

Municipal Mayor Elizabeth D. Balasya attended the said event together with Hon. Oscar B. Campoy, MLGOO Melissa D. Umis, Municipal Engineer Crispin D. Nisperos, Engr. Linario B. Lisnang, and Engr. Garry Capiato. Aside from a plaque, the municipality also received a cash incentive amounting to P100,000.00 as recipient of the R2 Assets Reborn Award.

Kayapa’s entry for the Local Access Road Category The R2 ASSETS (Adopting Safe, Resilient and Sustainable Infrastructure Systems) REBORN (Revitalizing Infrastructure Development and Bolstering Rebound Initiatives in the New Normal) Award was the Improvement of Mt. Pack-Laneb-Anit-it Road. Through the rigorous evaluation conducted by the provincial and regional evaluation teams, Kayapa was able to prove that it has met and complied to the the following metrics: safe and secured, sustainable, resilient, Subaybayan Compliance, Administrative Compliance, and Functionality of Local Project Monitoring Council out of all the entries submitted by different provinces in the Cagayan Valley Region.
